Learn Interval Walking To Lose Weight

Friday, April 2nd, 2010

Just a little bit of a different way of life will get some extra pounds worked from your body. What you can do is get off your butt and go out for a walk. Lying on the sofa won’t get you rapid weight loss.

Or maybe you ate just a little bit too much. A walk could help ward off that extra flab. When you have some free time and there’s nothing else to do, try getting out for a walk in the park or at least around the block.

I was reading a study out of Great Britain that examined obese and average people to see how they walked differently. On the weekend, the obese section too over 2200 fewer paces as opposed to other days of the week.

So if this is an indicator of how to get fat or stay fat, I think you should get off the couch and go for a walk.

When you do this, I want you to walk using the interval approach. This means to alternate fast intense paces with recovery rest paces. You see, this is important because the research showed that the normal weight people didn’t slow down at all on their day off. Walking can help you lose 20 pounds.

By increasing your activity level you can guard against weight gain or you can get some more weight worked off. So instead of watching TV all day on Sunday, if you’ll do some walking intervals, you can get some extra benefit while having fun too.

When you walk this way, you need to take sixty seconds of intensity followed by another sixty seconds to recuperate.

Do these intervals 10 times for more fat burning and weight loss. Your metabolism should enjoy a nice healthy boost that will get you burning calories even when you’re finished. Intervals are important because just a lazy walk isn’t going to get your system going very well at all.

If you like doing this, I say go for it four of every weekdays. When you’re done you’re going to want to do some extra strengthening exercises. Tell everyone how it goes in the weight loss forum.
